Active Listening

This morning at our first assembly we heard about the term 'Active Listening'. To me 'Active Listening' is about - listening carefully, understanding what another person says, then using that new information.

What does 'Active Listening' mean to you?

  1. Active listening is concentrating and listening to the things that are around us like the clock, the air conditioner, and the person talking to me. Focusing and listening to the teacher on the mat and concentrating on the teacher when the teacher is talking.

Active listening is to understand what the person is saying. To be a better active listener I will try my best at concentrating on the person who is speaking.

Hear what the teacher is saying

Active listening means pay a lot of kind attention to the teacher and look them in the eye when they are saying

    Listening
Listening is not just hearing what someone is saying and it is not going to go in one ear and out the other, it is taking it in and thinking about.

  10. In my own words active listening means to hear sounds around you and focus on what someone's saying. To me active listening means to carefully listen to what people have to say, to ask questions and understand what the person/people have said. I’m going to actively listen by paying more attention to what people have to say and try to understand what someone has said.

  11. Active Listening

Active listening is when you are concentrating on the person or you can hear all the noises around you and if you listen really well you can catch their ideas what they're saying to you.

To me I think that active listening is when you pay attention on the person that say’s what we had to talk about. When you listen to the person that’s talking you have to look at them and you listen very well.
